Identity workflows have expanded from basic image capture to combinations of hardware, OCR, barcode reading, RFID, and authentication software. Those functions are not equivalent and are not included in every system.
Capture, extraction, and authentication are separate layers
A scanner can capture a card or page without extracting fields or determining whether a document is authentic. Extraction, chip reading, checks, and integration depend on the model, physical modules, application, SDK, license, and supported documents.
Integration remains environment-specific
An interface, driver, operating-system, or software change can affect behavior. Evaluate the exact model and configuration with representative documents, expected outputs, and privacy, security, and accessibility requirements.
Technology can expand workflow options, but it does not by itself guarantee accuracy, validation, or a uniform experience. Define acceptance criteria and test before deployment.
