JISC provides hardware expertise and purchasing guidance. Hands-on technical work is offered only when it is feasible and specifically included in a written proposal.

Workflow discovery, hardware shortlist, configuration questions, availability, accessories, purchasing support, and the written hardware quote.
Separate technical scope
Defined setup, testing assistance, or deployment documentation only when accepted in a written proposal. Ongoing managed IT is not included with hardware.
Manufacturer or software partner
Licenses, downloads, product-specific engineering support, firmware, advanced repair, and custom application or SDK integration.
Customer or project owner
Complete requirements, application and licenses, network and endpoint security, privacy and compliance, accessibility, physical installation, device management, and final acceptance.
Software, OCR, authentication features, and SDK licenses are not included unless the written quote explicitly says they are. Final compatibility depends on the exact application, operating system, hardware configuration, and acceptance testing.

What to expect before you buy.
A short compatibility conversation is usually more valuable than a broad promise.
Does scanner hardware include OCR software or an SDK?
Not automatically. Hardware, OCR, authentication, middleware, and SDK licenses are separate unless the written product description or quote explicitly includes them.
Can JISC guarantee compatibility with any application or operating system?
No scanner is universally compatible. We can compare documented capabilities and known dependencies, then confirm the exact environment through manufacturer guidance, software validation, or a pilot.
Can JISC build the entire kiosk solution?
JISC can lead scanner selection, sourcing, and hardware planning. Application development, enclosure engineering, deployment, security, accessibility, and ongoing device management remain with the customer or an agreed specialist unless separately scoped in writing.
Should I send document images with my first request?
No. Do not submit ID images, patient information, payment information, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive personal data. We can arrange an appropriate test process after qualification if samples are necessary.
