TERMS OF SERVICE

JISC Scanners LLC (“JISC Scanners,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates jiscscanners.com (the “Site”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Site and your purchase or use of products and services offered by JISC Scanners.

By accessing the Site, creating an account, submitting an order or quote request, or purchasing a product or service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or purchase from us.

1. Eligibility and Authorized Use

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Site or make a purchase. If you use the Site on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes. You may not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, misuse customer or business information, or use the Site in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

1. Products and Product Information

JISC Scanners sells new and pre-owned ID scanners, passport scanners, accessories, software-related products, and associated services.

We make reasonable efforts to present accurate product descriptions, photographs, specifications, pricing, compatibility information, and availability. Minor differences in appearance, packaging, labeling, accessories, firmware, or condition may occur, particularly with pre-owned products.

The condition and included components of a pre-owned product will be described on its product page, quote, or order documentation. Photographs may be representative unless the listing states that the exact unit is shown.

Product specifications can change without notice. If a particular feature, operating system, software version, interface, certification, or application integration is essential to your intended use, you are responsible for confirming compatibility with us before ordering.

1. ID Scanning and Regulatory Compliance

ID scanners and related software may collect, display, transmit, or store personal information. You are solely responsible for configuring and using purchased products in compliance with applicable privacy, data-protection, employment, healthcare, hospitality, gaming, age-verification, record-retention, and other laws governing your operations.

Unless expressly stated in writing, purchasing or using a product from JISC Scanners does not guarantee regulatory compliance, successful identity verification, detection of every fraudulent document, or compatibility with every third-party application.

You may not use products purchased from us for identity theft, unlawful surveillance, discrimination, unauthorized data collection, or any other illegal activity.

1. Orders, Quotes, Pricing, and Payment

An order is not accepted until we confirm it or begin processing it. We may reject or cancel an order before shipment because of inventory limitations, pricing or listing errors, suspected fraud, payment issues, legal restrictions, or other reasonable business concerns. If payment has already been collected for a canceled order, we will issue an appropriate refund.

Prices, promotions, and availability may change without notice. Unless stated otherwise, prices do not include shipping, taxes, customs duties, brokerage charges, software licenses, subscriptions, or installation services.

Written quotes are valid only for the period stated in the quote. A quote may include additional terms that apply to that transaction. If those terms conflict with these Terms, the terms expressly stated in the accepted quote or order documentation will control for that transaction.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, shipping, tax, and contact information.

1. Software, Drivers, SDKs, and Third-Party Services

Some hardware requires drivers, software, software-development kits, subscriptions, license keys, or third-party services that may be provided or licensed separately.

Unless expressly included in the product description, quote, or order, the purchase of hardware does not include ownership of or a license to third-party software. Third-party software is governed by the applicable provider’s license terms, privacy policy, system requirements, and support policies.

JISC Scanners is not responsible for changes made by a manufacturer, software provider, operating-system provider, or other third party that affect compatibility or functionality after purchase. Any implementation, configuration, or integration services included with an order will be described separately in writing.

1. Shipping and International Orders

Shipping, processing times, delivery estimates, tracking, damaged-package procedures, and address responsibilities are governed by our Shipping Policy.

Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Carrier delays, customs processing, weather, supply interruptions, and events outside our reasonable control may affect delivery.

For international orders, the customer is responsible for determining whether the products may lawfully be imported, possessed, resold, or used in the destination country. Unless otherwise stated in writing, the customer is responsible for customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges, permits, registrations, and other destination-country requirements.

We may refuse or cancel an order if shipment or sale would violate export controls, sanctions, trade restrictions, or other applicable law.

1. Returns and Refunds

Returns, exchanges, refund eligibility, authorization requirements, time limits, restocking conditions, shipping responsibilities, and damaged-item procedures are governed by our Refund Policy.

The Refund Policy is incorporated into these Terms. If a product-specific listing, accepted quote, or written agreement contains different return terms, those specific terms will control for that product or transaction.

1. Warranties

The warranty applicable to a product, if any, will be identified on the product page, accepted quote, invoice, warranty document, or other written order documentation.

Manufacturer warranties are provided by the applicable manufacturer and are subject to that manufacturer’s terms, eligibility requirements, exclusions, and claims procedures. JISC Scanners does not independently guarantee a manufacturer’s performance, but we may provide reasonable assistance locating warranty information or initiating contact with the manufacturer.

A warranty provided directly by JISC Scanners applies only when it is expressly identified in writing as a JISC Scanners warranty. Its duration, coverage, exclusions, and available remedies will be stated in the applicable warranty documentation.

Pre-owned products may have cosmetic wear and may include a product-specific limited warranty. Any absence or limitation of warranty will be clearly disclosed before purchase where permitted by law.

Warranty coverage does not ordinarily apply to damage caused by misuse, improper installation, accidents, unauthorized alterations, unsupported software or power sources, failure to follow instructions, improper maintenance, or ordinary wear, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms eliminates or limits a written warranty that applies to a product or any consumer right that cannot legally be waived. Warranty rights may vary by jurisdiction.

1. Intellectual Property

The Site and its original content—including text, graphics, site design, code, photographs, videos, logos, and other materials—are owned by or licensed to JISC Scanners LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may use Site content only for personal or internal business purchasing purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, scrape, sell, or commercially exploit Site content without prior written permission.

Manufacturer names, product names, trademarks, and logos—including third-party scanner brands—belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on the Site identifies compatible or offered products and does not imply an affiliation or endorsement except where expressly stated.

1. Reviews, Feedback, and Submitted Content

If you submit a review, testimonial, suggestion, photograph, or other content, you represent that you have the right to provide it and that it is accurate, lawful, and does not violate another person’s rights.

You grant JISC Scanners a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, edit, and display that content for business and promotional purposes. We may remove submitted content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate.

1. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to manufacturer websites, software providers, payment processors, shipping carriers, support resources, or other third parties. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, policies, or services.

Your use of a third-party website or service is governed by that third party’s terms and policies.

1. Privacy

Our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have reviewed that policy.

1. Site and Service Disclaimer

We make reasonable efforts to keep the Site accurate, secure, and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every error will be corrected immediately.

EXCEPT FOR ANY EXPRESS PRODUCT WARRANTY OR OTHER WRITTEN COMMITMENT PROVIDED BY JISC SCANNERS, AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SITE, SITE CONTENT, AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” JISC SCANNERS DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES REGARDING THE SITE AND SERVICES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE EXTENT SUCH WARRANTIES MAY LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED.

THIS SECTION DOES NOT OVERRIDE AN APPLICABLE WRITTEN PRODUCT WARRANTY OR ANY RIGHT OR REMEDY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

1. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JISC SCANNERS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF USE, ARISING FROM THE SITE, A PRODUCT, A SERVICE, OR THESE TERMS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR A CLAIM RELATING TO A PRODUCT OR SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID JISC SCANNERS FOR THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THAT CLAIM.

THESE LIMITATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, PERSONAL INJURY WHERE A LIMITATION IS PROHIBITED, OR RIGHTS PROVIDED BY A NON-WAIVABLE CONSUMER-PROTECTION LAW.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

1. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JISC Scanners LLC and its members, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Site or a purchased product, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another party’s rights.

This section does not require a consumer to indemnify JISC Scanners for our own negligence, misconduct, or violation of law.

1. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site, cancel an account, or decline future orders if we reasonably believe that a user has engaged in fraud, unlawful conduct, abuse, security threats, repeated policy violations, or conduct that could harm JISC Scanners, our customers, or third parties.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including payment obligations, intellectual-property provisions, warranty limitations, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute provisions—will remain effective.

1. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our products, services, practices, or legal obligations. Updated Terms will be posted on the Site with a revised “Last updated” date.

Changes apply prospectively from the date they are posted. The Terms in effect when an order is accepted will generally govern that order unless applicable law or a written agreement requires otherwise.

1. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

To the extent permitted by law, legal proceedings relating to these Terms or a purchase from JISC Scanners must be brought in an appropriate state or federal court located in Georgia, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

This section does not prevent a consumer from relying on mandatory rights or venue protections provided by the law of the consumer’s jurisdiction.

1. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be limited or revised only to the minimum extent necessary.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

These Terms, together with the applicable product listing, accepted quote, order documentation, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Privacy Policy, and any written warranty, constitute the agreement between you and JISC Scanners concerning the applicable transaction.
